Europe Day 2022

Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historic ‘Schuman declaration’ from 1950. that set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe’s nations unthinkable. Schuman’s proposal is considered to be the beginning of what is now the European Union.

This year the institutions of the European Union offer a wide range of online and on-site activities across the EU Member States, as well as in the EU institutions in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg.

Find out what is happening in your country and all across the EU by clicking on a country in the interactive map https://europeday.europa.eu/eu-your-country_en.

Explore what’s on offer online or in person this Europe Day, be open to discuss the challenges we all face and create a better future for Europe that works for everyone.
